We are pleased to offer the following lectures together with SWITCH:

Amanox Solutions AG: Cloud Computing with Amazon Web Services (AWS) (09.00 - 12.30h)

Using cloud resources, usually remote hardware with webinterface and pay per usage possibilty, can be an effective alternative to having own hardware. In this workshop we learn what can be done with Amazon Web Services. The workshop is kindly provided by Amanox Solutions.

  • Pay as you use, billing process
  • Serverless computing (Lambda)

Target group

  • UNIBE staff and potential cloud users, science IT responsible, system administrators 
  • Advanced researchers and IT system responsibles wishing to learn about cloud resources

Prerequisites 

  • Participants must bring own laptops
  • You need a credit card to get an AWS account 

Methods

  • The workshop mainly consists of presentations and discussions

Certificate 

  • A certificate will be delivered to participants who have attended the whole workshop.

Coaches

  • The presenters come from Amanox Solutions and Science IT Support University of Bern.
     

SWITCH: Cloud Computing with SWITCHengines (13.30 - 17.00h)

Using cloud resources, usually remote hardware with webinterface and pay per usage possibilty, can be an effective alternative to having own hardware. In this lab we learn what can be done with SWITCHengines.
